I'm glad the writer from Grande Prairie was able to see Darryl and John in Edmonton. I didn't even know they were coming to Calgary until after the fact (guess I have to get plugged into the local entertainment scene) and when I heard I missed the concert, my response was "Say It Isn't So!"

In regards to the negative comments from some fans re: Vegas show cancellation. I was at the resort 4 hrs early and was told Daryl had cancelled due to the heat. As a registered nurse, it is totally understandable that he could not have performed that night. Of course, I was disappointed too but Daryl's health is far more important than anything. I flew from northern Alberta, Canada for the concert and had front row seats....AND it would have been the first time I'd seen them live after following their careers for 25 years!! Life goes on... Last week, they played in Edmonton and played to a sellout crowd at the Winspear. It was by far the best concert I've been to and was worth every cent. If any of you have a chance to see them live....get off your butts and get tickets!!

As a life long fan I was reading through these posts and wanted to express something: I have had Lyme disease for 17+ years and went at least 2 years undiagnosed! Lyme disease is a VERY serious disease. It affects virtually every system within the body. Anyone who had had any type of experience with Lyme (either personal or knows someone with it) would completely understand what he is struggling with EVERY day. This disease can and has changed many lives. I've personally considered myself very lucky with it. I have had some VERY bad times, and the worst were those first two years I went undiagnosed, and the coming years after. There are very few doctors that are considered Lyme Literate. As few doctors as there are, there are even fewer insurance companies that will allow what they recommend as treatment for those patients. Although it has been around for a long time, there is VERY little known about Lyme and how to cure or treat it. Many will tell you (and I am of this opinion) that there is no cure, but that Lyme can be controlled if caught early enough. Lyme has not had had the attention it deserves by the media or the medical community. I feel much better than in my early years with Lyme, so much better I am trying to finish the college education I started 14 years ago. I have recently been featured in an article in June in the Courier Post (NJ) and their affiliate papers. If you are truly fans and care, you should yourselves want to know what he is going through, not crucify him and desert him when he needs you most! For Darryl, I wish you the best and hope that you are able to get the Lyme under control. I also wish to give a piece of advice. Avoid stress, the Lyme will feed on it. When you feel good, enjoy it, and keep track of your symptoms, as Lyme works in cycles. There are remission periods. There is a lot of information out there. Use your judgment as to what is legitimate and what is not. Also use your judgment when it comes to your health, no one knows better than you when things are not right. Insist that your health care provider acknowledge that there is a possibility that the Lyme is acting up and not just the symptoms. Learn all you can, it will be your best weapon against Lyme. I am not a health professional, just a fellow Lyme patient, and we tend to stick together. On a side note,, you as someone in the public eye could really do a lot of good for the Lyme community,,, give it some thought! Shazzizme[at]aol.com Shannon Jaskolski FIGHT LYME DISEASE

See what we do is come to be snow birds around Thanksgiving and that way we can hear Barry Manilow for his Christmas Show. I say that because I hear that Daryl Hall and John Oates will be doing a new idea as far as Christmas music is concerned. So that got me to thinking. If we go to the east to hear them since they are from Philadelphia and they are probably in their home area around then we could see the grandkids from our one daughter and maybe our son would come and we'd have Christmas around there. Unless they do it in November then we'll hear Barry Manilow at the Hilton. Now we seen Daryl Hall and John Oats in November but it wasn't for a Christmas show last year. We check around to see about the seasons and if it matches up in our motor home Class C. My wife likes to sleep over the Cab compartment.

HI. yes I sat in the heat saturday night too and was dissapointed. Lake las vegas did their best to dispell the problem and that was appreciated. I wonder if they thought about "misters" with a couple of big fans on top of the hill? Anyway I had heard that one of them had Lyme decease and heat is really a bad thing for that condition and can make a bad situation even wourse. he has had it for about 3 years. I imagine if it was an indoor show they would have made it. the ticket man said that he thought they would not be back , I would still like to hear them. I suppose they should have explained it better than just saying it was too hot. alan

Last year you cancelled and this year you didn't show....We are no longer fans and will not buy any more of your records or go to any future concerts. We won't even play the cds that we have. Why? I would rarely post on a guest book like this as the pieces of 3 decades of music with Hall and Oates as ambassadors seems inadequately contained on a Univ Campus such as UCLA's Royce Hall until.....you sense that before it begins it may haunt you with Marvin Gaye's feeling..albeit sound system prelude commotion. I love the USA but perhaps we should all change vacation plans to join them in Canada 10 times in August. There you are sitting there with your best friends --the most unassuming dudes in the world--asking for favorites like you've landed in the old gospel revival hour as sort of a brick basis. They really are something else. If you were a kid in the happy go lucky 80's that's great. If you were around earlier than that and saw the stirrings which produced serious determination then even better and of course I'm speaking as an old timer. But we mainly left hearing the echo from the halls of knowing there was more ... much much more....where that came from....The energy is as solid as a rock. Don't miss them this summer..go north... cross the border. Try what looks to be some east coast work in the fall--no doubt..and probably a Christmas prep that you won't forget. There's a message in their music.

We went to it the other night. On the way you wouldn't believe it they were doing a movie Michael Douglass driving in a SUV with cameras and my mother said dont look around but my dad said look around and I did three times. He's handsome even for being old. So we got to the fair and all of us got corns on the cob not real butter. It was toasted then fudge from Michigan and then different things like orange drinks. We won 3 teddy bears and my sister put them in the back pack. My favorite one in Hall in Oats is the horns player. I dont know how old they are. They act a a little bit off the wall which makes it good for kids. My favorite song is i can't really pick one I guess. It was good except for one guy a few rows down he got a little off in his dancing but it was the grandstand so he was lower. Thanks Hall and Oates and the other guys whoever you are.

D & J: I just got back from your show [at] Mountain Winery & it was absolutely great!! I absolutely love the "do it for love" album I practically wore the cd out in the first few days I had because I kept playing all the time & sometimes I'd keep going back to "forever for you" and "life's too short" those are my absolute favorites on that one. Another one of my favorites is "someone like you". I know U didn't play some of these tonight that would have been absolutley fabulous if that happened. Maybe next time. Another thing I would love to know is how someone gets front row center at a concert because aside from the bad seats that I was stuck with the show was great!!!! I would pay anything for front row center if possible to let me know please!!!! I love you guys you're absolutely fabulous!!!! cristina stewart

Welcome to the history of Hall and Oates Music site. How many of you remember the 30's,40's,50's, and 60's?? I think these boys figured out a few things in 2005. Right now just to remind you they post the news on the reviews of where they are now. If you put their names in it tells where they !!!!! Daryl Hall and John Oates. I'd give em another 30 years.

Usually I'm opposed to artists sampling other artists' music especially when it come to my favorite band Hall&Oates. But anyone reading this may want to check out what Simply Red did with the music to "I can't go for that". The song is called "Sunrise". Just in case you didn't know, Simply Red did a song in the '80's called "Holding Back The Years". Check them out if ya get a chance.

Thanks for the good read. I like Daryl Hall too although frankly I think you young girls go just a little overboard on the looks comments. I'm a pretty good looking man myself though I don't sing. I think that's more what you mean . What impresse me as I was reading up on Lymes disease as my nephew has it now and he's only 10 is it is one hell of a tough disease and I hear he never complains and is a very pleasant young man. That would impress me as much as the the singing but I have heard him three times and he seems very good with the higher part coming down to the lower part . The songs are all excellent and always have been and they are not spring chickens. I'll be going twice in Canada.

I just happened to notice that the west coast area will be getting Daryl Hall and John Oates for part of the month of June. Every time they come in our direction everyone gets I know gets a huge lift out of it.Whether they sing "She's Gone" which is a good but older one or "Sara Smile" which helped things start up in the seventies or get to the big hits of the 80's like "Kiss on my List" you can always know for the older people they might do older things lately as well, such as "I'll be around" from their "Our Kind of Soul" which reminds people of the roots of the smoothness. I actually wonder about things from "Do it for Love" which was their latest one, songs like "Intuition" and "Breath of your Life" and "Life's too Short". They have a lot of songs even though I have a few favorites like "Every time your go Away I feel lousy"...Anyway many good songs like "You Make My Dreams come True". It's good to bone up first and try to second guess what they might do buy buying what's there in the bins. Anyway all the people on the west coast starting up and coming down and over into the Vegas area, soak it up for June. They're so steady : they keep getting back out there all the time.

A few years ago I was making a CD for a road trip and it was a collection of old 80s songs that I hadn't heard in a while. I asked a buddy at work what his favorite obscure old 80s song was and said that I would put it on my CD. He said, "Hall and Oates, Out of Touch". Although I had heard Hall and Oates many times before I had never really thought much about them. Out of Touch is now my favorite Hall and Oates song and one of my favorite songs of all time. I play it anytime I see a jukebox. I've hosted Hall and Oates parties in it's honor. I went out and got the record. I also love Kiss On My List, Private Eyes, Sarah Smile and Make My Dreams Come True. I have a Wall of Fame in my living room that hosts such celebrites as Alf, Bill Cosby, Beavis, Metroid, Jesus and Carmelo Anthony. John Oates is also part of it. Hall and Oates I love you you!! Keep rocking!!!

Yes I can answer the question but only because I have seen the ins and outs of Hall and Oats for years. New ones would not know this so I'm always glad to give the answer even if if repeated for new folks. First of all just keyboard in Hall and Oats on the searches and you would come to the more information or entertainment of them. Then get specific and write that. But let it be brief here. Buy the Vh1 Behind the Music was done sometime in the 2000's which is a one disc recollection and it tells you. Im not trying to con it , I'm just saying its impossible to tell who writes which song unless you look at the notes when you buy a CD because some of the info on the net is altered. The real point tho is that most of it is a secret which only the two of them know for sure. And yes some are hung up on the moustache bit. I noticed that before so whoever those people are thats whether John wants to grow it or not. I am a true fan of Hall and Oates and I wrote to them once myself directly. The so I can tell you for sure that only one of them wrote that particular song and then you can figure out the rest. They don't hang out and each write both songs. They do things on their own but people can't tell which it is. One last bit , they enjoy life. Buy the beginner CD and that's the one. It is rediculous to think everyone in the whole world knows Hall and Oates, new ones are being born every day so that would be impossible whoever wrote that before and I read the whole page or part of it right now. Thanks Jimmy

I think some of these young people sing very well. My grandaughter is typing this but I wanted her to add realizing that a while ago when she took a whole block of of our family to the show that they put on I pretty much not so much that I didn't like the way they sing as that they should figure out where they are going to sing so the gambling ladies dont hit me up. My wife was with the children and grandchildren and they enjoyed these young guys but my wife also likes to watch the Lakers so who knows. I'll tell you what I think about the young singers who go to Vegas. It's got its good points. We like the warm weather and this group my grandaughter tells me could live as long as I have if they take my advice which I hope they would. Walk two miles in the morning. Dont talk too much and do what your wife says. I like the Righteous Brothers but you two are better so keep at it. The women seem to like you a a lot and I like to whistle the songs that are from the churches or old days as you call them but you dont know the the old days like Bicycle Built for Two. Ever heard that one. You ever try anything from the 20's. Some of us are still alive who have the secret of life. Good luck in a long life and we'll see you in Vegas. Next time I'll sit with my wife. How about "Let me call you sweetheart"..Do you know any old songs..That's a good looking band. My granddaughter is into it.

On recent requests: Phoenix performance where Daryl has to leave the stage is available from Instant Live CDs (as well as most of their shows in the past year or so) but no video of the event is available, that I'm aware of. For the folks looking for "She's Gone" -- the '30 years later' version, it's on Daryl's solo album 'Can't Stop Dreaming'. Hope this helps your searches!

Well this caught my eye when i saw the word Boston so I will write as a 16 year old though now I am 42. The reason I will write as a 16 year old as it applies to Hall and Oates is that in 1980 that's the age I was give or take if my math is right and actually I was an honor student in math as well as science. But I had one small problem and listening to the radio helped me through it as well as the teachers Greater Boston Acadamy (see where the Boston ties in ? ) so as I was writing I was good in that as well as science and I loved my teachers Mr C and Miss B who I heard are retiring but they stayed a long time which is exactly the kind of school it is. A place where teachers really care about what happened. I told this story on the radio I was so proud of so anyway I had to have a baby. So let me get off and have the baby and they had a committee meeting and let me come back and I graduated with honors. In the mean time I was listening to One on One and Maneater which I don't really like as much but my favorite is Sara Smile. It is such a a sweet song I can hardly believe it. If I sound like a 16 year old it is because that is how I feel when I think of Hall and Oates and those years at the greatest high school in the world-- Greater Boston Academy and it still keeps going on and I think of it every time I hear a Hall and Oates song like I cant go for that. Thanks for listening Hall and Oates

My Husband took my to see your Concert in So. Cal. in Sept. 05. I grew up listening to your Music, My Dad a big Fan of Motown and Soul, I was always exposed to the best music. He was a big Fan of Daryl's. God rest his soul,He thought you were so cool. I always enjoyed Hall & Oats, but not near as much as I did watching you live!!!! I was in the front row. I have to tell you, I was rocked with so much emotion, first, here I am listening to the music of high school years only right here and in my face and all at the same time I'm overwhelmed by Daryl's magnatisim, charisma, and outstanding good looks, but also his profound love of the music. I've been to a lot of concerts in my life time, but none as fulfilling and enjoyable as your show, and having spent the evening with Daryl Hall, I went home and made My Husband a very Happy Man. Thank You, for your blue eyed soul, your music... rediscovered has added a definate spark to our relationship!!!! Rock on.

I just saw Hall and Oates at the Mohegan Sun Arena and they were fabulous!!!!!! Even though most of their hits are years old, they still sounded fresh as anything. They were awesome to watch and they also played a couple of old remakes (Mrs. Jones) that really made the show even more enjoyable!!!!!!!!!!! What I loved most is that they played all of the songs everyone requested during the show. I loved it so much that I am going out to purchase their 'Our kind of soul CD'.

When I think of Hall and Oates, two words come to mind: Hit machine and prolific. These three words I beleive capture the essence of Hall and Oates. Once someone asked me, "Who are Hall and Oates? I've been hearing so much about them!" I threw my drink in her ignorant face! Who hasn't heard of Hall and Oates? I'm surprised she didn't ask who Mozart was! She must have been living in a sealed cave on the moon during the 1980s! In my humble opinion Hall and Oates did more for humanity than Gandhi, MLK (Martin Luther King), Mother Theresa, Bill Clinton, Andrew "Dice" Clay, Howard Stern, and Pope John Paul II combined. -Yours in HAO

I have heard that the Hall and Oates people are on a singing and playing tour right now which is great. I hope they keep singing as much as they possibly can ( and playing while they sing ) as every time I have heard them I thought they sang with a lot of expression and often meaningful to the time of the day. Nothing original to say but you know they are just a very good band so check the list on their main web site which is most excellent with pictures and so forth. Check their for the times where they will sing and play. I will do the same until they come back to our area. Also the the one who sings out the most I hope he is well and strong , the tall one. Most of my friends say I shouldn't be that interested in the classic singers but they dont know beans about music like I do. Keep it going on Hall Oates and the ones who play sing and carry the equipment and work the sound. Did you ever see how they work the sound and adjust it ? Next time watch like I do if you want to..It's interesting for sure.

It is a pleasure to introduce myself. I am Kathy Sparrow, mother of Kurtis Sparrow. Kurtis lives near Aspen with his girlfriend Kristen ( who cares for one of your children when on tour). They have a band together called "Friendly Dictators" of which I know one of you have heard their CD thanks to Kristen. I just thought I would let you know that, as a fan of your group and now of the "friendly dictators", I would like to encourage you to take another look at the talents of Kurt and Kristen. Exceptionally new, different, and fun, these two have created an appeal to the ear that is exceptional for the "garage" type music we hear today. They will be working dilligently to get their new CD tight and ready for a summer release.....! I look forward to their visit to the west coast this summer. It is my hope and dream to encourage them to continue and work hard to get the dream of success in this highly competitive market. If there is any suggestions you could give me to help them obtain this dream from my end, please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from either of you soon. Thank you! Sincerely, Kathy Sparrow,

My daughter SARAH G.E.will be 3 years old on April 8, 2006. How could I ever get an autographed LP or CD for her for her birthday. That is autographed by Hall& Oats. In 1972 when I was 3 years old Hall and Oats formed and now that my Daughter is turning three it would be one of the greatest things she can have to remember. A autographed CD. Oh, when I was telling the man who put new laminate floors down in my house because my children have allergies, I told him what I wanted to do and not even 3 minutes later the song SARA came on. I know it is ironic but could someone tell me how to get this gift for my daughter.

I took my parents to the February 7th show here in Jacksonville at the Florida Theatre and it was AWESOME. I have always jammed to Hall and Oates. "I can't go for that" and "out of touch" are a couple of my favorite songs of theirs. They rocked the house. And, it was so exciting to be there and see them on stage. The terrible thing was the conservative audience. I really wanted to jump and dance to a few of the songs, but no one else was so I wasn't going to stand out. Regardless, it was a great concert and an incredible experience. I mean c'mon, when are these guys gonna go on tour again? They may not ever again. At least I got to see them before they stop touring. Great show Daryl and John. I would love for you guys to come again. I'd pay double to see you again!

Hall & Oats are thee best Singing Group, but I wanted to say something else,I saw Daryl Hall's interview on "Inside Edition" and He was letting everyone know that he has "Lime Disease" and no one would take it and him seriously well I know alttle about that because I have "Thyroid Disease" and everybody thinks its nothing as well, its not serious Disease they say,but everyone dosen't realize is that my Disease and what Daryl Hall is going through with his Lime Disease is nothing to laugh at,they both can be very painful to live with and your always going through something with it,so for everyone that thinks were making up the "Pain" and "Discomfort" we go through have no knowledge what so ever.if there is anything I would like to pass on to Daryl Hall hang in there because we have no choice and that I support you all the way and could only wish that I could meet you and tell you that myself.Good luck my Friend...

I myself do not really watch TV much but for that I would go over to the neighbors house to take a peak. I think its at 8 . Music is definitely there bag. They are extremely good at what they do. So keep doing it Hall and Oates.

I heard them the other night too in Canada..and even though it is starting to get very cold where we live, it was a warming feeling to know that these group would travel to play for us and then wake up the next morning and be so polite even though they probably think people staying in the Casinos in these package deals are in the way...but we try not to be ...I even thought I would try a different elevator just to be polite so I thought..but one of them works out ( John ) in the gym and is in really good shape from living in Colorado. Daryl and his family live in England so who knows how much longer they will feel like continuing with the rough schedule as Daryl was sick. So to tell you the I was thinking we should be thankful for the time they do it still..little bit sad but good. Daryl was especially brave I thought this summer when he went in the heat of Arizona not knowing he was sick from that bug bite. There's a lot of it on the official site I think for people who vacation in New England area. As for the music, you might not of known that they have a lot of songs so many albums and the rest of the common public has not even heard them..so the best feature is still technology just in case they decide to hit the road and one of them stay in another country. One more thing...it was great when the Average White Band and Michael McDonald joined them..two summers ago i'll never forget it..4 hours for cheap like the deal of a lifetime..and all of those groups are good. At the end all joined together in a song called Love Train..I was hoping they could put the pieces of that together and maybe make a tape of it. It's probably complicated to do but its probably worth it.

DarylHall has long been my favorite singer, since I first heard his voice coming out of my friend's radio..in her bedroom. I fell in love with his voice and always wondered about the man behind the voice..until I saw him a few years later..I had actually believed him to be a black musician for that entire time. Wrong!!! I grew in in Spanish Harlem, listening to the Motown Sound..and other similar artists..as Daryl did. I my opinion, he IS the best voice in the music business, still.. I have however, decided to sell all my H&O CDs, as well as cassettes, in addition to all the Daryl Hall solo albums, which have always been my favorites..After all these years(33)I have decided to purge myself of him, his voice and his music. If any one is interested please contact me..at the following address. I will never tire of hearing his music..however..

Well we would just like to say that we enjoyed you Hall and Oates show at the Sycuan (pronounced like a swan) Casino Showcase Showcase Theatre and had the special and gave our kids a break and took our grandkids. These days you can't tell about the music that comes out but knew you Hall and Oates people are standards. So we had a good time and please come back again. We know about the tape recordings of the shows but we have to see about that because some other friends of ours said they didn't want to stand in line so we hope that they will get those memories of it in the stores more accessible as for a Christmas presents...the reason being that my wife screamed out something to Daryl and I want to see if it came out on it. He says sometimes you people are part of this and my wife took advantage of that so she should hope to be on the record too. By the way good music.

A dream of a liftime came true for me last Dec. 11, 2004, when I was the grand prize winner of a radio contest, the prize being an all expense paid weekend to Foxwoods Resorts and Casino in Connecticut, tickets to see Hall and Oates, and back stage passes to meet the guys, up close and personal. The limo ride was great, the free hotel and meals were fabulous, but meeting Hall and Oates, Priceless. I have an 8 x 10 glossy picture in my home office now, Daryl has his arm around me, and John has his arm around my best friend. I have seen these wonderful musicians in person 8 times. They get better, and better looking with age. Daryl Hall is a long time resident of Dutchess County, NY, perhaps living in Dover Plains. Check out the Poughkeepsie Journal newspaper at Poughkeepsiejournal.com and search articles about Daryl Hall. Also, People magazine has a rare picture in its archives of Daryl Hall and Sara Allen, leaving an airport. I am hoping and praying that Daryl Hall recovers from his Lyme disease illness. I saw them again on Aug. 26, 2005 at Jones Beach Theater in NY, and they were fabulous, as usual. Am looking forward to 2006, as I am sure I will see them again. They deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Visit HallandOates.com for concert updates. I got their new DVD, performed live at John Jay college in NY in 2003. What a great concert, and you get a free CD also. Bye to all you H & O fans. P.S. I would like to get my hands on original Hall and Oates guitar picks to make into earrings. Any suggestions where I could get some. I have been surfing e-bay, but have not seen the ones I want. Bye for now. And much love to all the H & O fans out there. Nancy Gavin Loti327[at]hotmail.com

I have just recently seen the guys in concert in Montreal on Sept 5th, 2005. There was technical/electronic issues and over an hour delay. Never found out what was wrong, neither did Darryl. However, they were great. They said it was their first unpluged concert. They were real pros and never let that issue get to them.. On the contrary they had a great time! Anyone knows what exactly the technical issue was? Robert

Well if you read about them you can see they are all pulling together and that it is a very hard thing to figure out. Even people who you would never think would get sick can so lots of prayers out for Daryl Hall because it is not easy and he sings really great. He will come back though because he is a fighter and in the mean time he is doing a lot of good.

I am sending my wishes to Daryl Hall because I too have long term chronic neurological lyme. I am 17 years old and was diagnosed just this January. My mom had to give up her job to stay home and take care of me because for 3 months I couldn't walk or talk. I am just now going back to school for my senior year. I am in constant pain, have periods where I don't know who or where I am, short term memory loss--unless you have this disease, you cannot understand.I have had this for over 3 years but the doctors didn't believe I was sick. They kept telling me it was all in my head. When my mom heard about you, she told me because you have always been one of her favorite groups and it touched her because of what we have been going through. Keep the faith. I don't feel well, but I know I am getting a little bit better. Get lots of rest. Sorry I won't be able to take my mom to see you at Meadowbrook, but I of all people, can understand. Keep the faith

Finally got see Hall & Oates at the CC Melody Tent. Probably one of the best shows I've seen. H&O have been on my wish list for a long time. I was thrilled to see and hear them. Believe it or not, Todd Rundgren had been on my wish list also. I was in sheer bliss. What an encore performance. I bought the live CD after the show. Lots of soul in both performances. What a great combination of talent. Thank you for making my summer great. Continued good health to Daryl Hall.

Had the pleasure of seeing Daryl and John and the gang last night at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. What a FABULOUS show! (of course they never disappoint, I have seen them four times now). "Do It for Love" made me cry. I know that they truly "do it for love" every time they play. Daryl looked wonderful and it was great to see him doing well after his lyme diagnosis. Can't wait until Sept 2nd when I get to see them again - at Foxwoods in CT.

I suppose if your wife has been sick then she missed the chance so I'm sorry if she did get sick and missed it. However it's notlike they will be not thinking of more places to play or going anywhere where you cant find them so hello give me a break about picking on them . thanks Vi

This go's to hall and oates and hopefully they read this. My wife has been wanting to see them for 15 years and we bought tickets for the july 10th show in colunbus, oh, which is an hour away from our town. That show was cancelled due to his illness and that was ok, but now we drove to the concert agian today aug. 11, and they didn't show up and never told the ampitheater untill 6pm or so, so nobody knew about it. We were told by an employee of the ampitheater when we got there and he didn't even know untill he got to work. I am totally pissed off at them for one not cancelling in time and for another we heard from the guy that worked there that they scratched the city alltogether. I am a musician myself and we played for ten people last week but we still played!!!! I think this is the most unprofessional band that I haven't seen. At this point I wouldn't pay a penny to see them, they can kiss off for all I care and I hope the rest of there tour go's down the drain!!!!!!
[Webmaster's note: Hall and Oates issued a press release on July 18 announcing the cancellation of their shows on Aug. 11, 12, and 13.  This was not a last-minute decision and the venue certainly should have known that the show had been cancelled.]

Daryl, I just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery and hope that your tick borne illness does not become chronic like it has for my husband, my dog and myself. The last year and a half of our lives have been radically changed while we fight Babesia, Lyme, and Ehrlichia. I hope this does not become your story too. I beg you to join those of us that are striving to get the word out about the prevelance and severity of tick borne illness. I know you are sick at the moment but when you are feeling up to it please remember those of us that live the majority of our days feeling like you have lately by speaking out and educating when you can. Every voice counts and the Lyme community desparately needs a voice like yours to educate and spread awareness... Here's to better days ahead!!! Drink lots of water and eat organic...

Wehn you read something like that about someone who has lived through a lot of years of Hall and Oates ( and don't forget those other people with them ) it really makes you want to know HOW TO GET the whole catelog and go down through it to see how it all started not counting their greatest one which is "Our Kind of Soul" even though they might have to hold off on bringing it around to everyone. I'm very sure that everyone will wait for this tribute albums ( excuse me for calling it album but i am old )...part 1 or part 11 or if they have a part 1 and part 11 to Rock N Soul Tour type of thing like last year. Those boys are everywhere and that's why sometimes they have to try another planet ( rest ) maybe in the case of Daryl because he needs plenty of good air for his voice like an athlete. In my opinion a few prayers along the road don't hurt though I"m not so big on rain ...some rain must fall....for flowers to keep growing and i love good flowers dont you ? sorry got off on a tangent but in my mind they are still very cool and always will be and "they'll be back" . I guess you can see where i got that phrase ( hint the state ) [at][at]

I have enjoyed Hall and Oates for many years and have their Rock 'N Soul Part 1 tape. Their songs have real meaning and bring back memories of people and places I have known over the years. Kiss on My List reminds me of people I have liked that have only liked me as a friend over the years. In March I found out a co-worker only likes me as a friend. She sometimes watches her sugar and carbohydrate intake. I have enjoyed giving her juices, rice cakes, crackers and healthy chip snacks over the past few months. It has made me feel like a king giving gifts to my queen, although I know she is not right for me as I am to her. Rich Girl reminds me of some of the students when I was in high school in CT. Maneater reminds me of people I have liked who have not appreciated the gifts and tokens I have given to them. I enjoy Cab Driver on one of their more recent albums. Hall and Oates have many great songs that will live on for years to come.

Hi - Since my last post, I got the facts regarding Daryl and we had found out our concert is rescheduled at the Greek Theatre for September 21st. Looking forward to it and hope Daryl continues to feel well. My niece and I first saw them when she was twelve! This was at the Universal Amphitheatre, during the "H2O" tour and getting to sit almost in front of the stage, we were basically mezmerized by the experience. Man, seeing these guys up close, including Charlie, T. Bone and G.E., who all had SO much to give was unforgettable, I remember John throwing signed guitar picks into the audience, which we were able to retrieve. Though they had created great music prior to this, I remember loving "One on One" from that album with Charlie's wonderful solo. There were other terrific songs from that album - like "Open all Night". This motivated us to discover previous recordings and ones since then. I'm really enjoying the latest CD and I have to say, Daryl's solo album is hot, also - (no offense to John). We got to see them a few times afterward, but has been about nine years, now. It was fun seeing them this year on TV shows and we are looking forward to seeing them soon! Lorri

Well we would all be surprised probably at all of the professions represented on a night out for fun. What's not so surprising is that the old slogan " the show must go on" is pretty accurate after all of these years. A lot goes on behind the scenes that if we knew about it....we wouldn't be able to laugh and sing and dance and and and ...so that's their job...I think it's great that for the one they tried to do John filled in like that and equally good/great that they knew when to put their personal health ahead of everything so that future shows would continue and the ones missed re-scheduled. Real pro's...I was one of the ones who will look forward to the now re-scheduled shows ( and even added ) shows !!!!! Much love to the Hall and Oates band !!

My husband and I also attended the Phoenix Show and isn't it interesting how everyone gets a different take on things. We hadn't been to see them for years and realized it was one of those human nights where John stepped up to the plate because they are after all Hall and Oates and one of them wasn't feeling quite up to par. It just so happens that we once heard them years ago on an evening when just the opposite happened. The bottom line is the dedication if you ask me. Some people go to work when they wish they didn't have to but they do it anyway ...and it's a judgment call..just observed by more people than a person who goes into his his/her job with maybe less people watching. HOnestly the vulnerability of spirit went very far with us as one of the most outstanding concerts we had ever witnessed. Just wanted to say that !!!! Thanks [at]

I was also disappointed that they didn't play longer at the recent Phoenix show. I did think they sounded great, and if Daryl Hall hadn't taken a break and told us he was sick, I'd have never guessed it. He looked and sounded excellent. I just want to say that I have just returned home from their Phoenix show and have to say that it was the WORST concert I have ever seen. I understand that Daryl Hall was sick but he should have cancelled the show rather than give a half a-- performance. They did not sing half of their hits and it was extremely disappointing. Everyone was talking about how bad the shoe was on the way out and saying how they thought it didn't come close to their last Phoenix performance.

Hey Hall & Oates fans, I need some help from someone who can tell me where I can buy the HBO concert that Hall & Oates did back in 1983 which was done live fron Quebec Canada. This concert had most of my favorites, "Wait For Me", "Kiss on My List", "She's Gone" etc. I want to purchase this concert either on DVD or VCR tape. Someone please tell me where I can get it. For everyone who has Hall & Oates's H20 albumn or tape or cd, check out "Go Solo" sung by Dayrl Hall. This is one of his best songs, period. Really listen to his vocals on this, and listen to his control of his voice. It is truly amazing ! No other entertainer even comes close to his vocals. The only other person that I think comes close was Steve Perry of Journey. Anyway, please email me with the information on where I can buy this HBO concert. clarksteve6[at]yahoo.com

Hey all of you Hall & Oates fans out there. I just want to say that I am probably one of the biggest, most dedicated Hall & oates fans out there. I've seen Hall & Oates in concert 4 times. The last time I saw them in concert was in 1997 when they were promoting "Marigold Sky" and to me, that just isn't Hall & Oates at their best. That albumn wa there first attempt to change their sound to the AM side, and I'm sorry but it sucked. The concert that I went to at that time stunk for the most part. By this time, Daryl Hall was losing his ability to really carry a tune and to hit all those great notes. He was singing out of the side of his mouth, and it was terrible. Anyway, Hall & Oates were live in concert on HBO back in 1983, and this was by far the best concert that I have ever seen them in. I want to buy the DVD or VCR tape for this. Someone, please email me and point me in the right direction. Thanks, Steve Clark clarksteve6[at]yahoo.com

does anyone know of that song "Wait for me at the dock" ?? Someone said it is a big hit on the catelog the thing is the catelog is as thick as the sears one almost real big reason being smart creators from the start and the ones who went along with it . you really can't say they didn't hang in there and they never would reason : they love the fans. you can tell if you ever go and you should then you'll see it for yourself. portable radios when they were small mine red you can sneek around with. always keep ONE handy..flip the dials and then you'll find "no can do" or "sara smile" these days "ooh child" and naturally the big one "i'll be around". I'm telling you right now these guys will be around until they are around 90...i'll tell you the reason again. they love their fans and it gets them charged up to think up new songs

I just would like thank them for an excellent show. You guys sounded great as per usual. The new CD is fantastic. I was very young and I was supposed to be asleep but was very curious who the voices were behind the music I had recently heard on the radio. There were these two cuties with fantastic voices singing Kiss on My List. Thus began the on-going musical love affair! One of my best memories was when I was in high school. I was a big fan and they were going to be in concert in Pittsburgh Pa. It was around my birthday and my parent were asking what I'd like for my birthday. Since it was unlikely I would actually be given a big box with them in it I said I would like to go see one of their concerts. I knew this would not happen as my parents were against "rock concerts" after hearing horrific stories about what went on at them from other parents. Never in a million years did I expect to be allowed to go...but-Miracles do happen!(Guess all those years of good grades paid off!) On my birthday my Dad asked me to check out what was on later in the tv guide. As I went through the mag, out fell two fresh tickets to Daryl Hall and John Oates' concert! I almost couldn't believe it. It turned out that my Dad went the day after I told him about it into the Civic Arena and bought two tickets, one for me and him. Now, some teens would have been embarrassed to be accompanied by their parents, but I actually was proud to be with him. He had gone through a lot to get them. My Dad joked about the "wild antics" that would go on. My father was a musician himself and I knew that he would more than likely enjoy what he would see and hear...that their music wasn't about screeching and squeeling and biting rats heads off. He was on his feet as much as I was!!! He and my mom went with me a few more times after that as my guest and they still talk about it to this day. Also, strange but true- my husband had been to several of the same concerts that I had attended! Sitting not too far away...We never knew each other then or met, but were astounded that we had been just rows away from each other many times and never knew it. He may have married me for my Hall and Oates record collection...I have almost all of them! Now when we go to their concert together we laugh at how we were "so close, yet so far away." We even had a lot of their music played at our wedding three years ago. Our last song we danced to was Daryl's "Written in Stone"...a song we were asked a lot about and "new" to many. It's my favorite part of our wedding video. Our two babies hear their music and dance to it...future fans! Mella Kinsman, Ohio USA - Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 23:05:14 (EST)

Hi everybody! I met John Oates in Sitges Spain in 1969. He was travelling in Europe with his guitar on a holliday for a couple of months en playing in some clubs if the occasion was there. Later he came to my house near Amsterdam what was then the hippest city in europa next to London. He stayed at my parents house for a couple of weeks and I learned to know him as a very friendly and nice person who loved above all music and his guitar. For hours and hours he could sit in his room allone and play guitar. He talked about music The Temptations, Muddy Waters, Aretha Franklin. Joni Mitchell,Sly and the Family Stone ("If you see them they'll freak you out")James Taylor, All of those artists I had hardly ever heard of. They were not that well known im Europe. I played reccords of the Stones, The Flying Burrito Bross and the Beatles. I remember John being very interested on George Harrison's guitar solo on Let It Be. It was different on the album than it was on the single. It'better he said it's more there. Than he added: Fucking Beatles they can do it all! Many years later George Harrison played on the Älong the red ledge"album and I think they became friends. They also both liked car racing and among the many people John says thanks to on his Phunk Shui album is George Harrison. What more can I tell you there is so much: In 1972 I went to America and John and Daryl had just moved to New York. I remember them rehearsing with their band in a barn somewhere in Pennsylvania and I thought My God these guys are really good, unbelievable! They also took me to the Atlantic studio where I met their producer Arif Mardin an impressive gentleman but I being just a guy from Holland did'nt know what a top producer he was. I found out later. I also remember meeting Tommy Motolla (the Mamager) he gave me a whole pack of reccords. John and Daryl had just made their first record "Whole Oates" and later he sent me a copy like he did of all of their records . The last one was Along the red ledge. We kept corresponding every once in a while. Later his sister Diane(what a lovely young lady) went to Europe and we met and went to Paris with some friends for a couple of days. In 1974 John and Daryl and their band came to Amsterdam and had a free concert in the Vondelpark Which was referred to as "legendary"in the dutch most important music magazine. Also I went with them for tv-recordings on Top Pop Hollands most favourite pop-music show at that time. Last time I saw John when they gave a wonderfull show in Amsterdam. After 1982 we lost contact. So John if you read this: I'm still alive and kicking. Thank you and Daryl for all the wonderfull music. I keep up with it! Peace and love to you all! jose van der werf Amstelveen, Hollland - Wednesday, September 01, 2004 at 00:29:21 (EDT) i love your site

The best duo ever, there songs mean so much to me, I grew up to listening to there songs, nearly every song can relate to my life, every album means so much to me, they reflect on my life as whole. I was at another one of there concerts with my wife, this time i was at the Symphony Hall Birmingham May 7th 2005, MIND BLOWING !. I was seated next to a woman, after Daryl finished performing LOVE TKO, the lady sitting next me was TURNED on by Daryl's Voice, I will never forget her words,''OMG the voice, he has made love to me'' she sighed. Fantastic idea selling cd's of the LIVE concert, this CD will be locked away and untouched with all the rest of my Hall & Oates vinyl + cd Complete collection. Hall & Oates keep it going your Awsome.

To the -- so far-- non-Hall and Oates nation : This group is worth hearing this summer if you never heard them before. The reason being that you really cant top them. Look at that list on hallandoates.com right under the words NEWS. From there you can also see TOURS(or tour dates) and find out the whole situation from the east to the west and everywhere in between.

Hall n Oates have been a favorite of mine for along time. some 25 years of course there are many favorites from that time period. The music they sing is timeless and should be included on any space probe that hopes to encounter Life out There.

I'm not sure that this has been mentioned heretofore but just in case >>>> it might be good to duly note that hiatus is spelled like that not that the spelling itself is so important but that the carefully planned time outs have been most prodcutive. Hall and Oates will tell about time continually. They are very good song writers. As i said that has been said by other people.I'm just one

I was lucky enough to see H&O live in concert in Moorhead, Minnesota during the "Bigger than Both of Us" tour back in the mid to late 1970s. I was in about the tenth row or so on the floor. The band was very solid and H&O put on a great show. The nice thing about seeing a band fairly early in its career is that you get the chance to hear a lot of what are now old tunes, tunes they no longer play. There were a lot of great songs on Bigger than both of us, things like "Do what you wanna do, be what you are" and "Room to Breathe" and "Falling" that probably do not get played much, if at all anymore. It was a pleasure to see the boys back then. I have not seen them since but it is nice to see that they still are out there playing music.

As it relates to AL stopovers ( summer tour ) and things up north as well I am pretty curious about the potential ( is it possible ) Rock and Soul situation..with this collaboration with the Average White Band again this summer by Hall and Oates and you never know else ( maybe that's enough )... What an amazing summer was last summer. Just thinking ahead. Thanks..Once again enjoyed the double bill interview of Tavis Smiley the other night and the stories..didn't know chains were involved on the Philly story but what a great town..second to few others as towns go. Ok well I've probably rambled enough for now. I was referring to the meeting of Hall and Oates and that Adelphi Club chance meeting as chance meetings go...not bad... Thanks once again Hall and Oates for showing us the root systems...of your past...great show..with Mr Smiley followed by Mr McKnight..the next night..excuse me while i make some carrot juice..it's been a long haul..Shout out to the Brits.

so me an my girlfriend net which i call her for short were in Denny's today right ? She had lunch and i had breakfast but it was cool, she knows i'm different. and we heard I CANT GO FOR THAT ( NO CANDU) one of the most excellent songs but the thing is although my girlfriend chatters a lot which is why i've liked her a long time like i said since high school, for some reason she stops and looks up at the speakers at the ceiling when Hall and Oates come ON so i just wait it out. I actually like them myself. so it was cool even tho>>>i wait for the sax.

I felt compelled to send you a note regarding Our Kind Of Soul. You sound awesome! I am especially grateful for the remake of Neither One Of Us. What you did with that song touched my heart and brought me to tears. I have played it and played it...thank-you for taking music to a deeper level.

Great news to hear that we are getting a shot at Hall and Oates. It's about time we had them back where we need them. A long tour would be wonderful. Don't forget Scotland.:-)

We were just recalling the show in Nashville which was excellent. Many hits which we remember as we think back on it. And of course it was a happy time too. So many thanks to Hall and Oates who always deliver just the best in flow.

One of my best friends name was Sarah. She died at age 17 in a car accident. There was no dirnking or drugs involved. She was Kealakehe High School's Student Body President and she was involved in all kinds of sports and clubs. But the one thing that was most memerable about her was her smile. And it kind of feels like that song was written just for Sarah. She was loved dearly and that sond is perfect for her. You guys did a great job when writting it.
